How to Reboot Your Internet Router

Rebooting your internet router is a simple troubleshooting step that can resolve many common connectivity issues, such as slow speeds or dropped connections.

Steps to Reboot Your Router

1. Unplug your router from the power source
   • Locate the power cable connected to your router and unplug it from the wall outlet or power strip.
2. Wait 30–60 seconds
   • This pause allows the router to fully power down and clear temporary memory.
3. Plug the router back in
   • Reconnect the power cable and wait for the router to fully restart.
   • This may take 1–3 minutes. Lights may blink during startup.
4. Test your internet connection
   • Once the router has finished rebooting, check your internet connection on your device.
